Season 2

 SET 18 months after season 1, season 2 begins and ends at 8:00 AM. Jack must stop a nuclear bomb from detonating in Los Angeles, then assist President David Palmer in proving who is responsible for the threat.

Opening Story lines

President Palmer learns of a new attack on Los Angeles and wants his main man Jack Bauer back in.

Marie Warner is supposed to be marrying Reza Naiyeer but her sister Kate is suspicious of him.

 Kim Bauer is working as an au pair where she realises the dad abuses both the mother and daughter.

 9.00 am – 3.00 pm

CTU head George Mason is infected after visiting the warehouse where the nuclear bomb was built.

Jack learns about CTU being the target of the attack but cannot get his message to President Palmer before the attack happens, whilst Kim has taken the daughter Megan to CTU as she thought it was the safest place to be.

She is accused wrongly of abuse to Megan and Jack learns that Nina Myers gave the terrorists them the information on CTU.

Jack interrogates Nina and forces her to help with a sting operation and Kim tries to take Megan from the hospital to get her away from the nuclear threat.

Sherry Palmer returns much to David’s surprise with apparent information about a conspiracy in his own government.

George has a final conversation with his son after learning the extent of his radiation poisoning.

 3.00 pm – 9.00 pm

Kim and Miguel are arrested with plans to take them back to LA, with Nina killing her contact to become the main player and their plane comes down.

After Tony questions Marie Warner’s dad, Bob he finds out that he works for CIA.

Nina plans to take out Jack once and for all

Nina takes Jack hostage and we find out that Marie Warner and Bob Stanton are the traitors.

Kim forces her police car to crash stopping them from going back to LA.

In order to break Syed Ali Jack threatens his family whilst Palmer forces Stanton to reveal a location of the bomb after torturing him.

Kim is taken in by a hunter, but is suspicious of him.

9.00 pm -3.00 am

Tony becomes head of CTU after Mason departs as Jack and Kate try to break Marie.

George Mason flies the plane after catching radiation poisoning

The only way to dispose of the ticking bomb is to fly it to a desert, with Jack set to pilot it after bidding a fond farewell to his daughter, but Mason  takes over.

 The heat turns up on Palmer when they express doubts over the proposed war and Jack is alerted to a conspiracy after Syed Ali is assassinated, but remaining Coral Snake Commando Jonathan Wallace who wants Kate in exchange for evidence.

Bauer is then captured by people who want the chip that needs to get back to CTU, but Kate and Yusuf are captured whilst Lynne learns about the Vice President’s attempt to overthrow Palmer.

3.00 am – 8.00 am

Mike Novick puts pressure on President Palmer

Kate offers her captors money for the chip and Lynne is held before she can tell Palmer of the planned conspiracy.

The 25^th Amendment is revoked to get rid of Palmer and after finally obtaining the chip, it is damaged but Sherry Palmer is involved.

Kim travels back to the Matheson’s house where Gary confronts her before she shoots him.

Jack uses Sherry to entice Kingsley out but is killed after it is revealed that the recordings were fake and an assassination attempt is made on President Palmer by Mandy.

“The Sunday before you killed my wife, Teri and I went to the boardwalk in Venice just watching all the rollerbladers and musicians, laughing at the crazy people, spending time together. And Teri sees this snow-cone stand. She giggles like a kid. She takes off running, she wants to get in line, she wants one. I remember I was watching her, I was just… I couldn’t help myself. When I look up at her she’s talking to this old lady in line behind her and the two of them are laughing, and I’m thinking to myself, How the hell does she do that? How does she strike up a conversation with an absolute stranger? And they just start laughing. Like they’d been friends forever. That’s a gift. I remember thinking, God, I wish I could do that. But I can’t. That was Teri. My wife. That’s what you took from this world, Nina. That’s what you took from me, and my daughter. I just wanted you to know that.”
